GDRate+ Rating Guideline

Use this page to understand how GDRate+ turns community votes into a tier and how to rate levels fairly.

What is GDRate+

GDRate+ is a community-driven rating layer for Geometry Dash. Every logged-in user can rate a level once, and you can update your rating later if your opinion changes.

The final tier is recalculated from the median of all submitted ratings. RobTop's official rating is also counted as a single extra vote (So, don't be sad Robrob).

Rating Tier Definition

Each tier below shows what each rating means. The flame's look and color indicate the rating tier.

Special tier

The special tier is only awarded when a level has more than 100 user ratings on the site and over 90% of them are Above Mythic. Let's see if any level reaches it :)

Rating Guidelines

These are common-sense guidelines to keep ratings fair and consistent.

  1. When rating a level, consider all aspects: gameplay, decoration, effects, theme, atmosphere, progression, creativity, and song representation. At the end of the day it is subjective, but try to be as objective as possible by weighing all of these elements together.
    • Gameplay: How fun the gameplay feels.
    • Decoration: Detail quality, artwork, and block design.
    • Effect: Triggers used for memorable effects or animations.
    • Theme: Uniqueness, consistency, and how well everything fits together to tell its story.
    • Atmosphere: The vibe while playing, cohesion from start to finish.
    • Progression: How satisfying the gameplay and story flow feels, including the ending.
    • Creativity: Original gameplay or visual mechanics, gimmicks, or ideas.
    • Innovation: Whether the level feels ahead of its time and how influential it is to the game.
    • Song Representation: Sync quality, how the song complements the level, and personal enjoyment of the track.
    • Experience: Your overall enjoyment while playing the level as a whole.
  2. Longer levels take more work and can have a higher chance to earn stronger ratings, but length alone does not make a level good. Focus on how well the journey and progression feel.
  3. Platformers are included, so feel free to rate them based on your own standards or the aspects above.
  4. Your individual opinion matters more than following the crowd. We prefer honest takes to reduce bias; averaging is our job.
  5. RobTop's official ratings are NOT the standard opinion. If a level is only Epic but you believe it deserves Mythic, rate it Mythic instead of limiting yourself and rate it only Epic/Legendary.
  6. Rate responsibly. Please play the level before rating, and don't rate nonsensically. Creators put a lot into their work, and suspicious behavior can result in a warning, or worse.
  7. Don't create multiple accounts to bomb-rate a level or skew the results. This scummy behavior will not be tolerated and could result in account termination or worse IP banned.
